The book that has kids asleep in minutes

Like many children’s books, The Rabbit Who Wants to Fall Asleep purports to help kids fall asleep. But unlike many other children’s books, this new bedtime story actually succeeds in putting youngsters to sleep in minutes. Yes, mere minutes.

The book was written by Swedish behavioural psychologist and linguist Carl-Johan Forssen Ehrlin​, and uses psychological and positive reinforcement techniques – such as yawning while reading and speaking slowly and softly on italicised words – to help children relax and drift off to the land of nod. 

“I had written books before about leadership and personal development using these techniques, but I got the idea for a children's book while I was driving on a long journey with my mother and she fell asleep, and I got the idea of how I could use my methods to help children relax,” Ehrlin told the Telegraph.

“It helps the child to focus and makes them a part of the story so that they fall asleep along with the rabbit. They meet characters like Uncle Yawn and the Heavy-Eyed Owl.”

Don’t believe us? Well, hundreds of parents have left rave reviews about the magical powers of the story and the book has surprisingly topped the Amazon charts, outselling bestsellers Harper Lee’s Go Set A Watchman and Paula Hawkins The Girl on The Train.

Now all they need to do is make one for adults.
