What is happening to the Queen's corgis?

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II has been at the forefront of burning questions many people have but one in particular stands out.

What will happen to the Queen’s beloved corgis now that she has died?

The late monarch, who has spectacularly owned 30 corgis in her lifetime, was gifted two corgis, Muick and Sandy in 2021 by Prince Andrew.

The pets were gifted to the Queen during lockdown to keep her entertained while Prince Philip was in hospital.

In the wake of her passing, the dogs will return to Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, a spokesperson for the Duke of York confirmed.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 following a long battle with her health.

She will be farewelled at a state funeral at Westminster Abbey in London on September 19.

Her son Charles, who is now King, bid farewell to his mother and her dedication to the job and people of the United Kingdom.

“[...] to my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: Thank you.

"Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.

"May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
