Banoffee pie
This decadent, caramel pie might be the easiest you’ll ever make, but it’s also the most delicious.
Ingredients:
Base:
- 100g of butter, melted
- 250g of digestive biscuits, crumbed
Caramel:
- 100g of butter
- 100g of brown sugar
- 397g can of condensed milk
Topping
- 4 bananas
- 300ml container of whipping cream
- Dark or milk chocolate, grated
Method:
- Make the base first.In a bowl, combine crushed biscuits and butter and mix. Transfer to round baking pan and press into base and halfway up the sides to create the crust. Chill for 10 minutes.
- Now to make the caramel, in a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and sugar until dissolved.
- Add milk and bring to rapid boil, stirring constantly until golden.
- Spread over chilled base, let cool, and chill for 60 minutes.
- To make the topping,after removing pie and placing it on your serving plate, slice bananas. Use to decorate atop cake.
- Top with whip cream and grated chocolate.
