15-minute fettucine carbonara
For a meal that will take you less time to make than eat (or maybe not, it’s quite delicious), then look no further than this Italian favourite.
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 375g fettucine
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 200g bacon rashers, cut into pieces
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup pure cream
- ⅔ cup grated parmesan cheese
Method:
1. Cook pasta following packet instruction in large saucepan of salted water. Drain and return to saucepan.
2. Meanwhile, heat oil in frying pan over medium to high heat. Add bacon, garlic and onion. Cook for 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.
3. Combine eggs, parmesan and cream in bowl. Whisk together.
4. Add bacon mixture and egg mixture to saucepan of pasta. Combine well and cook over low heat for 1 minute or until heated through.
