Slow cooker pulled pork
Pulled pork is very much in vogue these days, and it’s easy to see why. Providing rich, flavoursome tastes welcome at any gathering, this recipe for pulled pork will set you from the pack. And the best part? You can put this delicious dish together with just the use of your handy slow cooker.
Ingredients:
- 2kg pork shoulder
- 4 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 brown onion
Method:
- Prepare your ingredients for the dish by first scoring the pork shoulder, quartering your cloves of garlic and slicing your brown onion.
- Using a sharp knife, make deeper slits in the pork and insert slivers of garlic.
- Season the pork by rubbing it all over with the spices and seeds in the recipe.
- Arrange onion over the base of slow-cooker.
- Place pork over the onion, then cook (covered) on a low heat for around eight hours
- Transfer meat onto a clean boards and discard skin and as much fat as you like
- Shred with two forks and add additional sauces/seasoning to flavour and moisten the pork
