8 cleaning hacks for lazy people

Do you prefer scouring Netflix for a new show to binge watch rather than scouring a grease-stained pan? You're not alone.

Read on for eight, lazy person-approved life hacks for cleaning your home:

1. Fluffy socks to dust the floor

When the weather outside is cold and dreary, there is nothing better than putting on a pair of fluffy, albeit dust-attracting, chenille socks. Embrace the dust-catching element of these cosy socks and use them as a tool to clean your floors while walking around the house.

2. Make use of your grandchildren

Make the most out of having a constantly on-the-go toddler by buying them a "Baby Mop" onesie. Thanks to this nifty invention, your floor will stay clean all by itself.

3. Dust with a lint roller

Use a lint roller to pick up pet hair and dust from small areas such as as mantels, bookshelves, lampshades and pillows.

4. Store in SITU

Make the chore at hand as convenient as possible by storing your bathroom supplies in the bathroom cupboard, your kitchen products in the kitchen and your shower cleaning supplies by the shower. This way it'll be easier to motivate yourself to use them.

5. Pick up the crumbs with tape

In the event of a children's arts and crafts session gone wrong or a messy meal, use tape to pick up crumbs, sequins, glitter or even rogue pet hair from the floor.

6. Squeegee your shower

Keep a squeegee in the shower and make a habit of wiping down the walls and glass after every use. This will not only stop you from putting off the inevitable but it will also reduce soap scum and make the task much less dreadful when you try to give it a proper clean.

7. Wrap your trays in tinfoil

Keep your oven trays looking as good as new by wrapping them in tinfoil. This protective layer will catch any spills and crumbs and will reduce the frequency in which you need to clean your trays. Note: This life hack can also be used for muffin trays and will result in you creating a DIY baking cup.

8. If in doubt

If you're still unable to keep your home clean, your safest bet is to tinfoil everything:
