9 cleaning tips for streak-free car windows
Sick of streaky car windows? All that effort with no result, it’s frustrating! Fortunately there’s a foolproof way to clean your way windows that will leave them sparkling not streaky with plenty of sheen to boot. Here’s how to do it:
- The order is important – Clean your windows and mirrors last. This prevents your sparkling clean surfaces being spritzed while cleaning the rest of the car.
- Check your temps – Never clean warm glass. Applying product to a warm surface will result in dried out streaks. Pull your car into a shady spot or the garage before cleaning.
- Start with your windscreen – These are often the trickiest and most visible surfaces.
- Know your strokes – Keep sneaky streaks at bay by using different stroking directions inside and out. This makes finding a streak easy as you can tell which side of the glass needs to be cleaned again.

- Roll down the windows for a perfect finish – Shine up the top portion of your windows by rolling them down.
- Use a specific glass cleaner – Only use products specifically designed for cleaning glass windows. And consider diluting with distilled water for a perfect finish.
