Readers Respond: What have you always considered a deal breaker on the first date?

Dating in itself is a bit of a scary concept, whether you’re meeting someone for the first time or not.

The thing is, we never know how the date will turn out, especially when it’s a person you met online.

But what about when they do or say something and you immediately know that you need to get out of there?

Known as the “ick”, the deal breaker is not taken lightly and many people stick to their rules.

Check out what some of you have said about the deal breakers on dates.

Kaylene Roberts - Having 2 phones and constantly texting during the date.

Geoff Reason - My female date getting drunk.

Fern Beth - Men who ask you out for coffee and refuse to let you pay but then say, next time, it's on you. I wouldn't say it, but I'm thinking, here, take the $4, there's not going to be a next time.

Heather Bourne - He asked, "Well am I getting any, or am I wasting my time?” during a meal...I paid my share and walked out.

Lisa Anne - Chewing food like a cow chews cud.

Jennie Heggie - Him buying one meal and asking for a second empty plate to share.

Sue Robson - Spending the whole time talking about their ex.

Jamille Kim - Hygiene and bad manners.

Carol Wright - Dinner and movies. You end up at KFC then come home to watch a movie on TV. Are you for real???

Trevor Goodchild - Lies and excess consumption of alcohol.
