Duchess of Cambridge dazzles in Queen Mother’s tiara
The Duchess of Cambridge dazzled in the Queen Mother's tiara at her first state banquet, which was held in honour of Chinese president, Xi Jinping, at Buckingham Palace last night.
The palace state dinner was hosted by the Queen and Prince Philip, and comes at the start of a four-day visit from the Chinese president that aims to cement economic ties between the two countries.
However, all eyes were on Kate as she wore a stunning red Jenny Packham gown and a dazzling tiara. Kate has only donned a tiara twice since becoming Duchess, the first at her wedding in 2011 and the second for a Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace in 2013.
The delicate Papyrus tiara, also known as the Lotus Flower, was once owned by the Queen Mother and a favourite of Princess Margaret. Kate matched the priceless headpiece with diamond-drop earrings.
