Alan Jones’ latest luxe acquisition revealed
Former radio presenter Alan Jones has been revealed as the owner of a sprawling riverfront property on the Gold Coast, having spent a hefty $12.25 million for the pleasure.
According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, the 81-year-old’s name is on the title of the five-bedroom Southport home, along with his niece Tonia Taylor and her husband Justin Taylor.
The 1099-square-metre mansion boasts high-end finishes and fixtures throughout, including French oak floors, travertine tiling, textured wallpapers, and sky-high recessed ceilings.
According to the listing, each of the bedrooms are accompanied by generous ensuites, including two master suites, with other luxe features including a wine cellar and tasting room, adjoined by a cosy rumpus room and wet bar.
With an east-facing waterfront position and panoramic views of the water and city skyline, the property also boasts a 33.7-metre frontage on Main River, including a supersize pontoon that can moor an 80-foot cruiser, a dual jet ski dock, power and water, as well as a heated lap pool alongside the river.
The confirmation of the purchase comes amid reports that Jones intends to sell his country retreat in the Southern Highlands, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Jones’ home to the south of Sydney, which he calls “Charlieville”, was where he spent most of the pandemic.
The multimillionaire even installed a custom-built radio studio so that he could continue making his broadcasts following his departure from Sky News in 2021.
