First look inside record setting Victorian mansion

A lavish Victorian mansion in Melbourne’s posh suburb of Toorak has finally hit the market for the first time in 50 years.

Blair House located at 17 St Georges Road, Toorak is expected to sell for between an eye-watering $60 million to $70 million.

The “once in a lifetime” opportunity was designed by Melbourne architects Hughes and Orme and has not been sold since the 1970s.

Boasting 10 bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a tennis court, Victorian glasshouse, and separate guest house among its botanic gardens.

The spacious home is perfect for entertaining in the grand formal dining room with a fireplace.

There is a stunning kitchen with six ovens, a breakfast room, as well as a butler’s pantry.

On the second floor there is a library area, retreat and a study, while on the third level there are beautiful views overlooking the garden through evocative dormer windows.

Another spacious living room/studio or bedroom is accompanied by a large dressing room and bathroom, perfect for some quiet time.

Blair House is being sold by the family of late engineer Radovan Basil Nanut, who died in 2004.

Mr Nanut left the mansion to his wife, Marguerite, and three children James, Pia and Elizabeth.
