Serena Williams selling up and moving closer to Meghan
Serena Williams has listed her luxurious Beverly Hills mansion for $9.7 million (US$7.5 million), shortly after her defeat at the Australian Open.
The 39-year-old tennis legend purchased the home in October 2017 for US$6.7 million but is now ready to let it go.
The sprawling property has over five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and is located in the upscale Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood.
The three-storey home, built only four years ago, offers a contemporary Spanish style and unbelievably picturesque city views across the valley.
The outdoor space is nothing short of extraordinary, with a built-in Wolf barbecue and refrigerator located on the patio, a Baja style pool and a stunning lawn perfect for entertaining.
Williams’ decision to list the home follows shortly after her loss at the Australian Open, when she lost 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-final round against Naomi Osaka.
Williams was asked whether this would be the last time fans would get to see her compete, which resulted in her walking away.
Williams failed to make the finals at the US Open in September.
Reports suggest she and her Reddit founder husband, Alexis Ohanian, are looking for a home in the Montecito region, which is where her friend Meghan Markle currently lives with Prince Harry.
Williams and Ohanian share a 3-year-old daughter, Alexis Jr.
