There are always ways to improve your cruise experience. We scoured Pinterest to find some of the very best cruise tips to make your cruise holiday even better.

1. Bring a collapsible closet organiser for extra storage – If you’re finding that you never have enough storage space in your cabin, a collapsible closet organiser doesn’t take up much room in your luggage but adds significantly more room for everyone’s belonging.

2. Multiply your outlets with a power strip - There are never enough outlets in a cabin and if you love your gadgets that can pose a problem. Taking an inexpensive power strip with you will means you can recharge multiple devices at once.

3. Outsmart the smart light switches – Most cruise ships rooms now feature an energy-saving light switch where you have to leave your key card in the slot to power your room. Simply place a similarly sized card in place of your key card to outsmart the smart light switches.

4. Use magnets to pin notes on the door – Did you know that stateroom doors on cruise ships are made of metal? Bring a few magnets with you and you can keep all your invitations, maps, schedules and other essential together on a handy noticeboard.

5. Take pegs – Your shower will likely have a retractable clothes lines but pegs will help your clothes, especially swimsuits, dry faster.

6. Escape crowds on a mid-level deck – If you’re after some peach and quiet, the main lobby deck is a shaded and the perfect place to escape the crowds around the pool.

7. Set your watch to ship time – The ship’s time and local time may or may not be the same. Often your phone’s clock with automatically update to local time, so bring a wristwatch and set it to ship time so you don’t miss out on any shipboard activities and port departures.
