Watch this massive storm hit a cruise liner

Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas has withstood heavy winds and 30-foot seas in a frightening storm off the south-east US coast this week, with the captain ordering everyone back to their cabins.

By Sunday afternoon the storm was boasting 160km/h winds –equivalent of a Category 2 hurricane.

The ship had more than 4,500 passengers and 1,600 crew members abroad, but thankfully due to the quick thinking of the captain no one was seriously hurt.

The Anthem of the Seas remained seaworthy and much of the damaged appeared to be superficial.

The ship took off from New Jersey and was expected to make stops in Port Canaveral, Florida, and the Bahamas, but was made to turn around to the impact of the storm.

Watch it hit in the video above.
