Experience life on board the Titanic in new exhibition

From April 8 until the end of June, Sydneysiders and visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a recreation of the RMS Titanic.

This exhibition will feature over 375 artefacts directly from the pre-sinking Titanic (certain artefacts were removed from the Titanic before the journey to New York) and props from James Cameron’s hit movie in 1997. Artefacts from Titanic’s sister ship Olympic, which are identical to the items lost in the depths of the ocean, will also be on display.

Visitors will not only view the artefacts and rooms of the Titanic but they will momentarily experience life on the ship in 1912. All visitors get a boarding pass that are designated to a class. At the end of the exhibition, visitors will learn of their fellow passenger’s fate on the disastrous morning of April 15, 1912.

You’ll get to glimpse into the life of the first-class passengers with a recreated stateroom, accommodation, and smoking rooms featured. Visitors will also experience the ship from the perspective of the poor, with props and artefacts recreating the third-class cabin and hallway. The infamous locked gates that kept the lower class from escaping to the upper decks will also be experienced.

This exhibition will also allow you to recreate photos in the grand staircase and the bow of the Titanic.
