Australia’s best honeymoon destinations revealed

From picturesque beaches and charming wineries, to remote desert landscapes and enchanting rainforests, Australia is home to some of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. 

And while many newlyweds may choose to honeymoon abroad, there are many special locations on our own shores to celebrate your nuptials.

Travellers have voted for Australia’s top honeymoon destination with 9Travel’s survey of Aussie Travel Trends Index, highlighting the top spots Down Under to explore after your big day. 

The tropical paradise of the Whitsundays has been crowned the most popular honeymoon destination in Australia, with 1 in 5 voting for the world-famous Queensland spot.

Travellers can island hop their way through the 74 tropical islands and experience some of the world's best beaches and tranquil lagoons, while also indulging in a range of honeymoon accommodation packages. 

Tasmania and the Sunshine Coast were considered the next best options, with the Gold Coast also receiving plenty of love from eager travellers.

If a beach holiday isn't quite what you're after, Broome in Western Australia and the Barossa Valley in South Australia were other destinations considered some of the best for honeymoons in the country.
