"Every day is precious": Fans defend Robert Irwin over posts with mum
Robert Irwin fans have rushed to his defence after trolls criticised his close relationship with his mother Terri Irwin.
The mother-son duo frequently travel together and on Sunday the wildlife conservationist posted a clip of his “May adventures”, including his recent trip to the US with his mum.
The first image showed Robert posing with a friend and his mum during their trip to New York, and in another photo the Irwins were posing with a family friend.
“Why (does) your momma always gotta be with you everywhere you go ...” one person criticised.
“Robert is like 20. He needs to see the world by himself,” another commented.
“Is Robert and his mother joined at the hip. She is in every pic you see of him,” a third wrote.
However, his fans were quick to defend him, with the top comment reading: "People saying why Robert has his mum in so many photos.Remember every day is precious. Life is fragile. The Irwin’s like millions of other families have experienced loss on a monumental scale.
“Steve was larger than life. It’s lovely that they do spend so much time with each other," they continued.
“Don’t be so critical.”
Another commenter added that people should just mind their own business.
