See inside the isolated lighthouse turned into a hotel

If you love panoramic views of the ocean and escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, then we’ve got the perfect place for you. That is, unless you’d rather not spend the night in a hotel located in the so-called “Graveyard of the Atlantic”.

Frying Pan tower is a 25.9-metre-tall converted lighthouse located 55km off the coast of North Carolina, accessible only by boat or helicopter. For $790 per person, you and 11 guests can spend three days and two nights in the eight-bedroom hotel, including all meals, staff and transfers.

It all sounds great, if you can get past the harrowing history of the reef on which it sits. Between 1994 and 2008 alone, over 130 new shipwrecks were found in addition to the hundreds of others already there.

Take a look inside the remote accommodation in the gallery above and tell us in the comments, would you stay here?
