Imagine a little town where the concrete roads are replaced with a flowing river. A place were quaint cottages have thatched roofs and ivy-covered wooden bridges connect neighbours. This might sound like a description of a fairy tale land but this town actually exists.
Giethoorn is a small town in Northern Holland. With a population of only 2600 people, it sees very few tourists and maintains a small-town vibe. The postman delivers mail by boat and flocks of ducks float along the river surface.
