The one airline offering wet weather refunds

US-based airline JetBlue have teamed up with tech startup WeatherPromise, to ensure that travellers can get the best out of their holiday.

The airline is offering a refund if travellers experience "excessive rain" during their getaway.

"We know how important vacations are, and by offering coverage against weather disruptions, we're ensuring our customers can focus on enjoying their trips with confidence and peace of mind," said JetBlue Travel president Jamie Perry in a statement.

The offer applies for travellers who book through JetBlue's eligible Flight + Hotel vacation packages.

How would it work?

"WeatherPromise determines 'excessive rain' based on destination, trip length, and historical weather data," the statement read.

Travellers won't even need to fill out lengthy forms to get their money back, as the process is automated by the tech startup company.

"If rainfall meets the qualifying threshold, customers are automatically reimbursed - no paperwork needed," they added.
