TV host says Russia should have bombed UK during Queen’s funeral
A Russian state TV presenter has declared that Moscow should have bombed the UK during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
Host of Russia-1 Olga Skabeyeva was speaking about the Queen’s funeral to fellow panellist Andrey Gurulyov, a retired military commander and deputy in the Russian federal assembly.
Mr Gurulyov was saying Russia should “nuke” the UK because all world leaders are there for the late monarch’s funeral.
“We should have done it today, all the best people are there for the funeral,” Ms Skabeyeva responds in agreement.
"Why would we bomb Ukraine or Germany, when there is Britain, the root of evil?” Mr Gurulyov then asks.
"When Britain is turned into a Martian desert, will they defend a Martian desert as per their fifth article? There will be nothing left."
His comment is in regards to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) which says an attack on a NATO ally is an attack on all other members.
“I assure you, everyone will back down, they will not use the strategic nuclear forces,” he continued.
Russia and Ukraine have been battling it out since February 24, 2022, after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation”.
